Conservatory at Crown0
As a lover of seafood and limitless food, the Conservatory at Crown is one of those special places I get to enjoy about once a year!
There is an A La Carte menu but I would highly recommend the buffet at Conservatory.
Prices are not cheap:
Monday – Friday $39.50, Saturday Seafood $51.00, Sunday Seafood $66, Public Holiday Seafood $66
Monday – Thursday $63, Friday $74, Saturday $74, Sunday $74, Public Holiday Eve and Day $74
Have a look at the pictures below of the buffet area… All I can say is gastronomy, hedonism and absolute pleasure! I managed to take all these pictures before digging in because we were waiting on late guests that hadn’t arrived. The suspense to dig into the food was KILLING ME.
I didn’t get a chance to take pictures of the hot food, because they were covered but there is also a wide selection of hot food, roasts, veggies, stir frys, soups etc. All delicious as well.
My first plate would be seafood galore, half a dozen oysters with seafood sauce and lemon, prawns, crab, salmon.
The second plate was much the same, mussels, salmon, antipasto and yummy prosciutto.
The next course was hot food, roast and veggies as well as Tom Yum soup!
I then went back to a plate of seafood as Morton bay bugs have magically appeared in the seafood buffet selection.
I ended my fabulous dining experience with three courses of dessert: ice cream, cakes (including a stick of fresh cherries dipped in chocolate fondue) and fruit salad.
By now, you must all think I am an obese human being!! I just couldn’t help myself, like I said, I only get to visit the Conservatory once a year! I was going to make the most of it!
The restaurant is beautifully and elegantly presented. I recall lots of gold, nice table cloths, cutlery and napkins. Wait staff were well dressed, sharp and clean. It was a 5 star environment.
The only thing that hampered my dining experience was the service towards the end of the night. As the restaurant got busier and busier there was more strain on the wait staff to clear plates and provide beverage service. I literally had to chase down a waiter to take our coffee orders, that wasn’t very pleasant considering the 5 star environment we were dining in.
Anyway, overall, it was a fantastic pleasurable dining experience. My mouth is watering as I am writing this review reminiscing on the gorgeous food I was able to enjoy.
