I remember I first came here with a big group of friends (maybe 10), we shared a zillion dishes and I remember my mouth was on FIRE. HOT HOT HOT!
A friend also told us a funny story about a friend who was bald and LOVED chilli food, as a result, which dining here, he would have to use one hand for continuously wiping sweat from his head, the other would be holding chop sticks cramming chilli Korean food into his mouth.
Anyway… back to the review
We started with the traditional Korean side dishes which were offered at Oriental Spoon complementary.
We weren’t particularly hungry so we ordered two dishes to share. The grilled or sizzling eel and a seafood noodle soup dish. Both dishes were yummy but not as spicy as I had remembered. Perhaps we just chose mild dishes but I was a little disappointed.
For dessert, I ordered the green tea and sesame ice cream.
I was expecting two scoops of ice cream in a bowl so this was certainly a surprise. It was beautiful and delicious. The waffle cone pieces on the side were sweet and fresh.
This is a high table turn over restaurant, so don’t expect friendly service if you are lingering around and finished your meals. There will be people waiting for your table.
Overall, good service, food vibe. I will be back.
